Learning about the School to Prison Pipeline...

This week we played the ACLU's school to prison pipeline game to help us understand how in schools with zero tolerance policies small infractions like having your cell phone go off in school or being late to class can add up to some pretty serious consequences.

We also watched this video about a good student, well-loved by teachers and coaches, with no prior behavior record, who was suspended for 180 days for making a hit list in his notebook.

And this video about activists who are speaking out to demand the creation of pathways to success that will interrupt the continuation of the school to prison pipeline.
