The seventh and eighth graders have voted to focus this year's activism project on access to quality education after a lengthy process of debate and research on topics as divergent as gun control, AIDS/HIV, income inequality and animal rights.

The student steering committee has been researching issues of inequity in education (including the school to prison pipeline, drop out rates, universal access to pre-k, school segregation, and the privatization of public schools). We are in the process of reaching out to organizations who can help us learn more about these issues and who we can collaborate with to effect change.
